The PTA's Fun Run Races to New Records!

A group of Forestdale kindergarteners and adults happily run outdoors through a large blue inflatable archway.
A group of children and adults wearing bunny ears and red matching Fun Run shirts gather under a large blue inflatable arch.
Thank you to all of the families that supported our PTA FunRun event at Forestadle last Friday.  It was a chilly day but our students enjoyed being outside with their classmates running/walking and dancing to music during the FunRun.  Students who had the most individual donors led their grade levels out to the run.  These students were:
  • Prek-Steven Burns/17 donations
  • K-Jonathan Surette/22 donations school leader
  • Gr. 1-Lola Scace/12 donations
  • Gr.2-Jolene MacFaden/10 donations

At the time of this newsletter the PTA FunRun has raised over $91,000 for both Forestdale and Oak Ridge Schools. We are only $4,000 from our goal of $95,000! Thank you to the amazing parent volunteers from the PTA who have made this happen!

The Oak Ridge Run Run is this Friday, October 30. If you want to set up a fundraising page for your student, there's still time to get moving before this fundraiser ends! Knight Life Returns to SMHS

A neon sign depicts a knight in silver armor holding a blue shield with a white triangle against a dark brick wall. It is the logo for the "Knight Life" program produced at Sandwich Middle High School.
The first episode of Knight Life 2026-2027 is here! SMHS Broadcast Journalism students have been busy finding stories, filming, and editing, and we’re excited to share their work with the SMHS community.

In this episode, students deliver slips of kindness to SMHS staff, take us along for Carpool Chats, and explore how meals are prepared in our cafeteria. Viewers also get a behind-the-scenes look at how Knight Life comes together. Plus, we meet some of the twins of SMHS and put their “twin telepathy” to the test in a fun competition!

Watch the full episode below and see what’s happening around SMHS... created by students for students!

Oak Ridge School Store Opens!

Four smiling students stand behind the Oak Ridge School Store booth, displaying blue t-shirts for sale indoors.
Students run a "Sand Ridge School Store" booth, selling dark blue t-shirts stacked on the counter and hanging up.
This week marked the exciting opening of the Oak Ridge School Store, as our sixth-grade entrepreneurs are already making it a success!  Students are selling Oak Ridge T-shirts and towels during lunch, with even more exciting merchandise on the way.

A huge thank-you to Oak Ridge teachers Sharon Dumas, Sue Maciel, and Julie Santoni for bringing this wonderful opportunity to life. From the initial idea to opening day! We are also so grateful to the Sandwich Elementary PTA for providing the first merchandise for our students to sell and helping make this launch possible!

Oak Ridge is the place to be AND the place to buy! We cannot wait to see where our sixth-grade business leaders take this next!
