This Week on the Ridge

Another epic week here at Oak Ridge! We had a successful Walk, Ride, Roll to School Day, along with Fire Safety Assemblies for Grades 3 and 6—thank you to Andrew Mandel from the Sandwich Fire Department for joining us! And a big congratulations to our Curators’ Club on their gallery opening. The submissions were excellent, and club members did a fantastic job organizing and displaying the work. Bravo!

David Gable, conductor of the Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra, came in today to work with Mr. Healy's violin class. He stayed for three hours working with students on bow grips, posture, and violin technique. Today, we had a successful lockdown drill.  This was in partnership with the Sandwich Police Department and our District Safety Committee.  We are proud of our students.

We celebrated several different students who received "Positive Office Referrals" this week (see below).  Positive Office Referrals are sent in by teachers to recognize and acknowledge the great ways that students are making a difference in our Oak Ridge Community!  We look forward to seeing students on Tuesday, October 13!

Marigold of the Week

Carol Archambeault, Grade 6 Teacher

Mrs. Archambeault's nomination for this recognition from her colleague reads:

"Carol has established a safe, caring classroom in her new area of expertise: Social Studies! Students who have been hesitant to participate and read aloud in class have a newfound confidence in her classroom, and it is truly heartwarming to see their amazing effort and courage to be more engaged in sixth grade!"
