On Tuesday, September 29th, students are encouraged to show their Red Sox pride by wearing Boston Red Sox gear or any baseball jersey/apparel as we cheer on the Red Sox and wish them good luck in their playoff matchup against the New York Yankees!
Let’s fill Forestdale with some baseball spirit and Red Sox pride!

Forestdale 2nd graders put our “family of learners” values into action by writing heartfelt letters of thanks and encouragement to Massachusetts veterans participating in today’s Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Their message emphasized “Welcome Home,” a particularly meaningful gesture for many veterans who did not receive the welcome they deserved when they returned from service. Through their words, our students had the opportunity to show gratitude, kindness, and respect to those who served our country.
The Honor Flight Network provides veterans with the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C., and the memorials honoring their service and sacrifice. We are proud of our Forestdale students for helping make this experience a little more meaningful for these veterans and reminding them that, even generations later, we remember, we appreciate, and we say, “Welcome Home.”

This year we will continue to recognize students during monthly REACH ceremonies. A REACH Character Traits Ceremony is a special opportunity for us to recognize students who consistently demonstrate positive character and the values we want to see in our Forestdale family. Each month, students are recognized for a specific REACH character trait such as: respect, empathy, accertiveness, courage, or honesty. Students are recognized because of the way they treat others, make thoughtful choices, overcome challenges, and contribute positively to our school community. The ceremony is not simply about being a “good student”; it is about celebrating the everyday actions, decisions, and moments that demonstrate kindness, responsibility, perseverance, respect, and genuine care for others.
The first assembly is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23rd and the character trait being recognized is: Respect and Responsibility.

Be Part of the Forestdale DEIB/CARE Team!
Forestdale is proud to have a DEIB/CARE Team. This is a creative, passionate, and committed group of staff and community members who come together to help ensure that every student, family, and staff member feels welcomed, respected, valued, accepted, and included each and every day!
We believe that belonging matters, and that creating a school community where everyone feels they have a place and a voice takes all of us. Our team shares ideas, celebrates our differences, identifies ways to strengthen our school community, and looks for meaningful ways to support Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Forestdale.
DEIB stands for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
CARE stands for Care And Respect Everyone.
If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, we would love to have you join us! Whether you have an idea to share, a passion for building community, or simply want to learn and contribute, there is a place for you on our team.
Our next meeting: Tuesday, October 20th @ 8:00 AM...Google Meet option available. Meetings are approximately 30–45 minutes
We would love to see new voices, new ideas, and greater community involvement as we continue to make Forestdale a place where everyone belongs!
