Our first home football game of the season was full of energy, excitement, and school spirit! The USA-themed student section turned out in a big way, with Knights decked out in red, white, and blue, patriotic costumes, and plenty of USA-inspired gear. The Class of 2027 began their senior year with a fun-filled day of friendship, fun, and making memories! The day began at Town Neck Beach, where students captured the traditional aerial “27” and boardwalk photos. Later, the class headed to Camp Burgess for team-building activities, water sports, games, and plenty of time together. It was the perfect way to start their senior year! |
Last week, our music, band, and choral students enjoyed an interactive and engaging performance and master class with the New Fangled Four, a comedy barbershop quartet from Long Beach, California.
The quartet introduced students to the four parts of barbershop harmony: tenor, lead, baritone, and bass while sharing their music, humor, and enthusiasm for the art form.
Students had the opportunity to participate firsthand, including learning and singing a “tag,” the final four measures of a song that bring the music to its conclusion.
Experiences like this provide students with a unique opportunity to learn from professional musicians, experience music in a new way, and connect classroom learning to the broader musical community.

Students in Ms. Montminy's science class visited Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.
Students conducted pH, temperature, and salinity water quality tests, examined oyster shells from the aquaculture in the bay, learned about the salt marsh ecosystem, and connected with the long and current history of the Wampanoag people exploring a weekuw (home) and muhsh8n (canoe).
Students enjoyed learning more about the creatures living in the estuary by dip-netting in the bay to collect and identify grass shrimp, sand shrimp, fish, and crabs.
Next up, students will be examining the watersheds here in Sandwich!

We are so proud of SMHS seniors Cora Tedeschi and Addyson Curley, who participated in the 2026 Neurodiversity Leadership Summit, held August 6–9 in Denver, Colorado!
The Summit brought together an incredible group of students and recent graduates from across the country who are stepping into leadership roles with The Neurodiversity Alliance.
Cora and Addyson are wonderful examples of student leaders making a difference in our own school community. Through their work supporting and mentoring our middle schoolers, they demonstrate the power of inclusion, advocacy, and connection.
We are incredibly proud of the leadership they are showing at SMHS and beyond!
If you'd like to learn more about participating in SMHS's Eye-to-Eye Chapter, please reach out to Chapter Advisor, Michele Dunham mdunham@sandwich.k12.ma.us

To schedule your conferences, please click the sign-up link and select the teachers from your student’s schedule. It is entirely up to each parent/guardian to decide which teachers and counselors they would like to see.
We have also included a helpful video that walks parents through the scheduling process step-by-step. We encourage you to watch the video if you have any questions about how to sign up.
