Facebook
We are on Facebook! Please follow "Oak Ridge School" to see additional fun school updates.
Clubs
Clubs will start up the week of September 28th. Please be on the lookout for a ParentSquare communication of the Fall Offerings in a couple of weeks. Clubs fill up fast! There will be three cycles of clubs this year (13 sessions per cycle):
- September 28 - December 18
- January 4 - April 2
- April 5 - June 11
Snacks
Please pack a healthy snack with your student each day. The expectation is that families provide one snack for students to eat during the day. We are unable to provide daily snacks. If your family is unable to provide a snack, please contact a school social worker.
Toys
Toys (including stuffies, fidgets, 3D printed animals, etc.) are not allowed at school.
Get Involved
We are seeking three parents to join the School Improvement Council to help with the school improvement plan, handbook, and family and student engagement initiatives. Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month from 3-4 pm. Please reach out to Dr. Dunphy, if you are interested in joining!
If you’d like to volunteer or chaperone, please complete a CORI form (available in the office). Bring your ID to complete the process. CORI forms are valid for three years.
A reminder that you are always welcome to have lunch with your student!
Dismissal Routines
Please make sure that you have updated your student's Pick Up Patrol. Daily changes must be entered by 12:00 p.m. If you have any questions about Pick Up Patrol please call the main office at 508 833-0111.
Student Drop-Off
- Drop-off begins at 7:45 a.m. in the small bus loop (left of the building). Students must be in their homeroom by 8:15 a.m.
- Students must be dropped off curbside for safety.
- If you need to walk your child in, please park in a visitor spot and check in at the office.
Student Pick-Up
- Please do not arrive before 2:50 p.m. as early arrivals block buses.
- In the first days of school, Sandwich Police will assist in directing traffic and cars will not be allowed on campus until after buses are dismissed.
- Cars arriving early will be staged in the small bus loop to avoid backup on Quaker Meetinghouse Road.
- Once buses depart, cars move to the large bus loop where staff will call numbers from parent car tags.
- Students wait in the MPR and are dismissed as their number is called.
- Parents must remain in vehicles and follow staff directions.
- Multiple vehicles for pick-up must each display a tag with your child’s number. If you need another tag with the same number for another vehicle, please write the number on a piece of paper and affix it to your car.
- If your student needs extra time getting into your vehicle or getting buckled, please pull all the way forward in line and staff can assist you.
