Mr. Dintino Serves Lunch

Forestdale students celebrated an incredible schoolwide achievement with a special reward on Tuesday, March 31st. After surpassing our ambitious goal of 40,000 reading minutes during Read Across America Week, I had the privilege of serving lunch to all of our students, a fun (and slightly sticky!) pancake-themed experience that brought lots of smiles.

We are especially proud to share that our students didn’t just meet the goal, they exceeded it, logging over 49,000 minutes of reading during the week of March 9–13.

This accomplishment reflects the strong commitment, enthusiasm, and love of reading shown by our entire school community.
Thank you for your continued support in fostering a culture of reading at home and at school, your partnership makes achievements like this possible!

General Education Intervention Breakfast

On Thursday, April 2nd, our Math and ELA Intervention team hosted a family breakfast for students participating in intervention services. A large number of our 1st and 2nd grade students benefit from this targeted, short-term general education support, designed to address specific skill gaps and strengthen foundational learning.

We are grateful to the families who attended and actively engaged in the hands-on literacy and math games that students experience during intervention. These shared experiences help build a deeper understanding of how skills are taught and reinforced throughout the school day.

Strong home–school partnerships are essential to student growth and achievement, and events like this highlight the powerful impact of working together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support their child’s learning journey.

Bunny Hop/Friday April 3rd

Thank you to all of the families who joined us for our Bunny Hop run/walk on Friday, April 3rd! Your participation helped make this event a meaningful and joyful experience for our students.

Congratulations to second graders Dylan Stanton and Caroline McKeen, who were the first girl and boy to cross the finish line at the Bunny Hop! They also accomplished the same result in December’s Jingle Jog. It’s wonderful to see students continuing to stay active, set goals, and enjoy these special school events.

Our seasonal run/walks, held on each of our three half days around Thanksgiving, winter holidays, and spring, are an important part of how we celebrate and promote student wellness. These events are designed to support both physical health and mental well-being, giving students opportunities to be active, have fun, and recharge in a positive environment.

Just as importantly, these events strengthen our school community. Seeing families and students come together to participate, encourage one another, and share in the experience is what makes these moments so special.

Class Placement 2026-2027

As we enter the month of April, I will begin collaborating closely with our staff to thoughtfully plan class placements for our current kindergarten students moving into Grade 1 and our Grade 1 students moving into Grade 2.

Class placement is a comprehensive and intentional process. We carefully consider each child’s academic strengths, learning styles, and social-emotional needs to create balanced classroom communities where every student is positioned to thrive.

While we work with students each day, we recognize that families know their children best. Your insight is an important part of this process, and we value your perspective. Please take a few moments to complete the survey linked below to share information that will help guide our decisions.

Please note: While we do not accept specific teacher requests, we will take into consideration relevant family experiences, such as a previous sibling having worked with a particular teacher. I will also consider avoidances.
