This Week on the Ridge

This week on the Ridge, students have been enjoying some fun sledding and playing in the snow during recess. We are proud to continue making positive phone calls home to celebrate student success, effort, and kindness.

Next week, we will celebrate the 100th Day of School on Tuesday, February 10! We will also be hosting our Third Annual Math Fact Super Bowl! Students are busy practicing their math facts and building their confidence and fluency.

Teacher Feature

Diana Ganju
Technology and Art Teacher

I grew up on a small dairy farm in Michigan and since then have lived in both California and Florida before moving to Massachusetts.

I love teaching watching kids discover their talents and abilities and seeing pride in their work on their bright faces!

Black History Month

We have many things happening within our building in recognition of Black History Month. In homerooms, students will learn out Black creators and innovators. Check back here as the month unfolds for additional updates on what our students are learning!

Upstander Club

Our students have been learning what it means to be upstanders — people who speak up, help others, and take action when they see bullying or unkind behavior. Throughout the week, students shared anti-bullying and friendship messages during morning announcements, created posters with positive reminders displayed around the building, and discussed ways to safely stop bullying when they see it happen. We are proud of our students for working together to build a kinder, more respectful school community where everyone feels safe and included.

Spotlight on Specials

In Health class with Ms. Speakman, students across all grade levels are building skills that support their physicalsocial, and emotional well-being. Younger students are learning about feelings, friendship, kindness, and healthy choices through games, movement, and discussion. Older students are focusing on goal-setting, growth mindset, communication skills, and strategies for managing emotions and stress. Throughout the year, students participate in hands-on activities and collaborative challenges that help develop confidence, empathy, and lifelong healthy habits.
