Grade 1 Writing Celebration

On Friday, January 30th, first grade classrooms warmly welcomed families and friends for a celebration of student writing inspired by their ARC animal unit. Students selected an animal to research, learning about its habitat, diet, and unique characteristics. Using their research, students crafted informative pieces of writing and confidently shared their work aloud with family members, peers, and teachers—proudly showcasing both their growing writing skills and their knowledge as young animal experts.

Great Kindness Challenge

The Great Kindness Challenge will now kick off tomorrow, Monday, February 2, and all Kindness Week spirit days and school-based activities will begin that day.

Thank you to all the people who participated in the Community Kindness Tunnel last Friday, January 30. Students were joyfully welcomed to school by administrators/staff from Oak Ridge and SMHS, SPS Superintendent Dr. Maruszczak, and Town of Sandwich officials. This was an amazing opportunity to celebrate kindness together as a community.

A big thank you to Mrs. MacDonald, our physical education teacher, who has organized both the Oak Ridge and Forestdale Kindness Tunnels!

January REACH Awards/Courage and Cooperation

On Wednesday, January 28th, students in grades K–2 were proudly recognized during our REACH Award Ceremony. This month’s theme, Courage and Cooperation, highlighted students who consistently demonstrated bravery in trying new things and a strong commitment to working respectfully with others.

We are excited to celebrate our January 2026 K–2 REACH Award recipients for modeling these important character traits

Patriots Spirit Day/Friday

Well… this is it — the Big Game!
On Friday, February 6th, Forestdale will celebrate New England Patriots Spirit Day. We invite all students to go all out in their best Patriots gear or team colors—red, blue, white, and gray—as we come together to cheer on the Patriots. Let’s fill Forestdale with pride and send our school spirit all the way to Santa Clara, California, as we rally behind the Patriots on their journey to a Super Bowl victory!
