KNIGHTS IN BRIGHT LIGHTS

Mr. Chad Amaral’s Introduction to Video class recently filmed their own talk shows. Each student took on a different role in the production: director, camera operator, technical crew, and host. This hands-on project gave students a fun and engaging way to learn just how much work goes into creating a successful studio show.

Students rotated through multiple responsibilities, gaining experience both on camera and behind the scenes, while building communication skills. The class had a great time bringing their shows to life while learning the many moving parts of a professional studio production.

In future video production classes, students will continue using the studio to create our award-winning shows such as The Dungeon and Knight Life.

BON APPÉTIT? NOT SO FAST!

Mrs Walsh's French Class
To strengthen their use of French partitive articles and food vocabulary, students were challenged to create a recipe no one would ever want to eat!

The project, fittingly titled “Sandwich dégoûtant,” quickly turned into a full-scale gastronomic scandal. Armed with du, de la, and des, students carefully layered their creations with ingredients that would make even the bravest chef recoil. Think less café parisien and more fridge clean-out gone wrong.

Students from other classes and teachers were invited to judge the entries. Criteria included French language accuracy, presentation, neatness, and, of course, the ultimate question: Who created the grossest sandwich of them all? We will find out soon...

BIOMEDICAL STUDENTS DISSECT SHEEP BRAINS

As part of SMHS's Biomedical Pathway, students in the Human Body Systems class applied their knowledge of anatomy through a sheep brain dissection lab.

Students identified and described the major structures of the brain while making direct connections between the sheep brain and the human brain.

This immersive experience allowed students to deepen their understanding of how brain structure relates to function, reinforcing classroom learning with real-world scientific investigation.
