This Week on the Ridge

This week at Oak Ridge, we were thrilled to welcome students back for a brand-new year of learning! Along with the excitement of a fresh start, we are also excited to welcome our new assistant principal, Matt MacLean. We are also excited for our new principal, Anna Dunphy—who, while new to the role, is certainly not new to our school!

Mr. MacLean has been part of the Sandwich Public Schools since 2017, serving as a PE teacher and Health & Wellness teacher, and creating the Strength and Conditioning Program at the high school as both an after-school program and a class. He is a former head football coach and most recently served as the Administrative Intern at SMHS. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children and loves outdoor activities like swimming and biking. He is excited to be working here at Oak Ridge, and we are excited to have him!

To add to an already great week, our Spelling Bee took place today and brought lots of excitement. Congratulations to all of our participants—and a special congratulations to our winner, Will Terry in grade 5!

Reminders & Updates

Lost and Found
Please advise your student to check the Lost and Found located at the main entrance of the school. All items that are not picked up by 1/15 will be donated on 1/16. Thank you!

Noble Knights

Noble Knights are awarded to students who demonstrate one or more of our 7Cs—community, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, character, curiosity, and communication—here at Oak Ridge. Students selected as Noble Knights have their pictures taken and proudly displayed on our big screen for the entire school to celebrate.

Each Noble Knight also receives a golden coin, which can be redeemed for a book from our wonderful Book Nook. A special thank-you to our PTA for helping make this meaningful reward possible!
