On December 12 Sandwich Middle School students took on real-world challenges through the
One8 Student Solve, an immersive experience that connects classroom learning with real-world problem solving. During the event, students worked in teams alongside industry and community mentors to tackle authentic challenges and develop creative, thoughtful solutions.
Partnering with the
Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), a nonprofit organization that raises funds for cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, students explored mission-driven challenges related to community engagement and large-scale event planning, gaining insight into how problem solving and innovation support meaningful impact.
One student team was mentored by Mr. Kevin Sareault, a 30-year Pan-Mass Challenge participant and Chair of the Sandwich School Committee, whose long-standing commitment to PMC offered students a powerful perspective on leadership, service, and perseverance.
SMHS’s participation highlights the school's commitment to applied learning, community partnerships, and preparing students to see themselves as capable problem solvers beyond the classroom.
